Let's say we have an elevation point as below and would like to vertically reference to NAVD88:
- East Latitude in degrees minutes and decimal seconds: 27 36 2.0196
- Longitude in decimal degrees: -82.738621
- Height: 36.8091 feet
- Horizontal datum is NAD 83, Vertical datum in Mean Low Water.

Step by step:
Step 1: Launch VDatum software from VDatum work folder.
Step 2: Choose the VDatum project area as Florida - Tampa Bay, Version 01
Step 3: Set Input Vertical Datum as MLW - Mean Low Water. Output Vertical Datum as NAVD 88. Height unit is meter and is Sounding data.
Step 4: Input coordinate is in Geographic (Longitude Latitude)
Step 5: Fill in the Point Conversion boxes with Latitude, Longitude and Height values. Click Convert.
The result will be displayed in the right gray boxes.
